Interior Designer in Loughton, UK - Outi Penttila Interiors

black blue and yellow textile

I design homes for people who know what they like but can't quite get there alone.

My background is in fashion and visual merchandising — which means I came to interiors with a stylist's eye already trained for composition, texture, and the detail that makes everything click. I work from your story outward: what you love, how you live, what the space needs to do for you. Every piece earns its place. Nothing decorative for decoration's sake.

The rooms I create aren't finished — they're alive. Layered in over time, honest about who lives in them, and worth coming home to.

About me / Outi Penttila

My route into interiors wasn't the traditional one — and that's exactly what shapes how I design.

I spent years in fashion and visual merchandising, including time as an Interior Stylist at Barker & Stonehouse, where I learned how spaces are truly read. How the eye moves through a room. How texture creates mood. How a space tells a story before anyone sits down in it. That instinct — for composition, for narrative, for the detail most people can't name but everyone notices — is something you develop in fashion and carry into everything you do.

I have Level 3 Diploma in Interior Design and run Outi Penttila Interiors from Loughton, Essex. Twenty years in the creative industry has taught me one thing consistently: the best spaces aren't designed around trends. They're designed around the person who lives in them.

I work with people whose homes are almost right — but not quite. The pieces are there. The bones are good. Something's just missing. That's where I come in: to find the thread that ties it all together, and make the space feel genuinely, unmistakably you.
